About the Book
This volume was the first in the series “Documents of the Social Movements”. This series’ aim is to preserve the historical memory of the social movement that emerged in the post-apartheid period. This edition bring together documents from the first few years of the new social movements, and covers a range of topics such as anti-xenophobia struggles, land and labour, the environment, politics and elections. It also covers documents dealing with Southern African struggles on NEPAD, as well as international anti-globalisation and anti-war struggles.
About the Author
Khanya College is an independent non-governmental organisation based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Established in 1986, the primary aim of Khanya College is to assist various constituencies within working class and poor communities to respond to the challenges posed by the forces of economic and political globalisation. Khanya College offers assistance through providing educational and training workshops, publications and research to organisations and individuals in these communities.
