About the Book
The 3rd edition of Batjha Kaofela, called Love is in the Air is an anthology of ten short stories by youth for youth. This edition of Batjha Kaofela takes it’s title from one of the short stories called Love is in the Air, because a central theme that came through all the short stories was love, in all its forms and kinds that we all need as human beings.
About the Author
The ten young authors of the selected short stories were selected from more than 100 submissions (as part of the JBF short story schools’ competition 2018) through a panel of external moderators. The authors all come from schools and OVC centres in townships that the JBF works with throughout the year.
Khanya College is an independent non-governmental organisation based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Established in 1986, the primary aim of Khanya College is to assist various constituencies within working class and poor communities to respond to the challenges posed by the forces of economic and political globalisation. Khanya College offers assistance through providing educational and training workshops, publications and research to organisations and individuals in these communities.
